Huang Leadership Development Scholarship A Fund of Greater Horizons

The Huang Leadership Development Scholarship was established by Bob and Lily Huang in appreciation of TD SYNNEX co-workers all over the world, past and present. Bob, the Founder, former CEO & Chairman of the Board of SYNNEX Corporation, and his wife Lily wish to recognize those who contributed to the success of TD SYNNEX by offering scholarship opportunities to associates and their families who pursue personal leadership development through higher education.

Bob’s vision of leadership includes mentoring the many co-workers he has worked with since founding SYNNEX in 1980. As SYNNEX grew into a TD SYNNEX global enterprise, countless careers were launched along the way. This spirit of leadership that uplifts entire communities is the lasting TD SYNNEX legacy that has inspired his scholarship program.

Bob and Lily hope to support the next generation of leaders in entrepreneurship, sciences, humanities and the arts. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on academic achievement excellence and leadership qualities as evidenced by their personal statement, letters of reference, and community involvement.

Mr. Huang holds a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan, a master’s in electrical engineering and statistics from the University of Rochester, NY, a master’s in management science from the Sloan School of Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an honorary doctorate degree from Kyushu University. He was elected by Computer Reseller News as one of the 25 most influential executives in computer industries and inducted to CRN’s Industry Hall of Fame in November of 2004.

Mr. Huang serves on the Advisory Board of Sloan School of Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is a Kyushu Fellow, and contributed to the founding of Kyushu University Robert T. Huang Entrepreneurship Center (QREC). The Huang Leadership Development Scholarship Fund was established through a generous gift from Bob and Lily Huang. Since 2011, the Huang Leadership Development Scholarship program has awarded more than $1,000,000 USD to help lessen the impact of rising tuition costs for students who will go on to achieve great things! TD SYNNEX Corporation also matches the Huang Family contributions each year.
