TD SYNNEX Share the Magic raised $2.6 million — and counting — during its 13th annual fundraising drive.
The charitable initiative raises funds to support local organizations serving children including A Child’s Haven, Clement’s Kindness, Make-A-Wish South Carolina and Pendleton Place. A check presentation will be held in December.
Misty Farmer, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish South Carolina, said TD SYNNEX Share the Magic is an integral partner in Make-A-Wish South Carolina’s mission.
“There is no aspect of our operation that TD SYNNEX hasn’t impacted throughout the years,” Farmer said. “To give you some perspective, last year we granted 255 wishes, and Share the Magic funded 57 of the 255 wishes.”
TD SYNNEX Share the Magic recently hosted a celebration event Oct. 7 on the Grand Lawn at Hartness, east of Greenville. Around 1,400 people from across North America attended the event, which featured a silent auction, presentation program and special music entertainment.
The initiative’s final fundraising event of the year will be a golf tournament held Oct. 28 at Green Valley Country Club.
Founded in Greenville in 2011 by TD SYNNEX President of North America, Peter Larocque, Share the Magic has raised more than $20 million to help children in need. The initiative has also established chapters in Canada, Colorado, Illinois, Arizona, San Antonio and the Bay Area of California.
Gary Palenbaum, Executive Vice President of Product Management at TD SYNNEX, said it’s very rewarding to be part of the initiative that gives back to children in need.
“When you hand out $300,000 or $400,000 to charity, that’s moving — that’s sizable. That can make a huge difference,” Palenbaum said.
