Will Scruggs, TD SYNNEX Product Business Manager for Cisco Enterprise Networking, knows a thing or two about commitment—both in his professional and his personal life. After graduating from the University of Colorado Boulder, he started his career with TD SYNNEX as an Account Manager for the Inside Cisco Sales team. Five years later, he continues to grow within, and outside, the company. This coming April, his long-term relationship will become a lifetime commitment when he marries his high school sweetheart. No matter what he’s faced in life, Scruggs has done it with the same tenacity and dedication that he now brings to his role as a TD SYNNEX Product Business Manager (PBM).
As a PBM, Scruggs focuses on Enterprise Networking architecture. One of his favorite aspects of this architecture is the fact that all technology journeys start with the network, allowing him the chance to work with many amazing partners. “All partners are unique in how they operate and deliver for their end customers,” he explained. “My job is to gain an understanding of what our partners’ goals are and then provide some of our value-adds that can accelerate their progress within that space.” There are so many different value-adds that Scruggs said it can become overwhelming; when he creates a roadmap for partners, he focuses on just one or two value-adds that will really progress partners before expanding to other parts of the company. “It may sound cliché, but one of the best pieces of career advice I’ve received is ‘it’s all in the follow-up’, which is so true for our team. Our partners are constantly being pulled in a million directions with customers and vendors, so it is my role to stay in contact and help keep them on a successful Cisco path when they engage with our team,” Scruggs said.
When he’s not occupied helping partners, Scruggs can be found participating in the typical activities of a born and bred Coloradoan: camping and hiking in the summer and snowboarding during winter. He enjoys anything that allows him to be outside, taking in the cool Rocky Mountain air. He also enjoys a good live show. You can often catch him at a local concert venue listening to bluegrass, folk, or rock. When a quiet night is in order, Scruggs enjoys a game night at home with friends and family.
As the new fiscal year just kicked off, Scruggs and his team are busy ramping up FY24 plans. When he looks ahead, he often is reminded of what Amy Hodge, BDM Representative at Cisco, said: “The TD SYNNEX PBM team are the Cisco sherpas helping partners look at the obstacles they might have in front of them and helping them reach their Cisco goals by guiding them to the top of the mountain.” Scruggs and his team look forward to discussing how they can help Cisco partners, new and existing.
