Many leaders would say that a key component of being a successful company is giving back to the community. SYNNEX adamantly subscribes to this school of thought through efforts like its Share the Magic fund-raising program. With this program’s marked success in the South Carolina area, Share the Magic has now been extended to Colorado and will be hosting the area’s inaugural golf tournament this year. The funds raised from this event will benefit the Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation (CHCF) and the Hope for the Warriors (HFW) veteran’s organization.
To learn a bit more about this year’s Share the Magic Golf Tournament in Colorado, we connected with Bill Maroney, SYNNEX Comstor Senior Marketing Manager and member of the Board of Directors for the Colorado share the Magic program. Maroney spoke to the organization’s goals and why the Colorado team is particularly excited about the program’s recent extension. Here’s what he had to share:
Tell us a bit about SYNNEX’s approach to giving back to the community. How does this Share the Magic event exemplify that?
SYNNEX cares about its communities and embraces the opportunity to give back to those in need. With its notable success in South Carolina, this solid corporate citizenship has now been extended to Colorado and will be benefitting CHCF and the Hope for the Warriors veteran’s organization this year. We are proud to bring this meaningful effort to new regions of the country and help extend SYNNEX’s community impact.
What is the significance of the event being held in Colorado this year? What is the significance of the charities being supported?
This is the first year that we are conducting the golf event in Colorado. Given the challenges of COVID, live events are difficult to manage, but we are expecting a solid turnout. Our goal is to build upon the success of this event and make it bigger and better for many years to come.
The funds raised will be used by both organizations to support quality of life activities for the children and veterans. While our focus is on making life a little better for individuals, our efforts ultimately extend to entire families who take comfort in seeing the joy experienced by their loved ones.
