Large IT customers today use an average of 730 individual cloud services. Think about that and what it would mean for your customers and their ability to manage those services. Many of their IT departments have no idea which departments have gone around them to procure their own cloud services. That makes things even riskier for the company and its data.
In a recent Cisco post, Robert Dimicco, Senior Director of Advanced Services, shared his thoughts on how to be a trusted advisor for your customers by: 1) helping them determine the number of cloud services they actually utilize, and 2) which cloud services are the riskiest for their business (particularly if IT isn’t managing them).
Based on risk analysis with organizations over the last two years, Dimicco says that Cisco has identified the top 10 riskiest cloud service categories as:
•Cloud Drive/Storage
• Back-up & Recovery
• Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
• Finance & Accounting
• Legal
• Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
• Human Capital Management
• Compute
• Services Management
• Application Development & Testing
He goes on to explain why each of these made the top 10 list while others did not. Read more here about each to find ways to advise your companies on cloud services and help them mitigate risk.
