On August 21, 2023, as the sun blazed down with an intensity that could only be matched by the enthusiasm of those in attendance, the Share the Magic 2023 Colorado golf tournament occurred in Firestone, CO. With the temperature climbing over 100 degrees Fahrenheit as tee time approached, this year’s event brought the heat in more ways than one. Let’s take a look back at some of the memorable moments, and the people who made it all possible with the help of Matt Buszkiewic, TD SYNNEX Vendor Marketing Manager.
This year’s event was held at the Saddleback Golf Club and marked its third year running. For Buszkiewic, he finds it hard to compare the events over the years because he has found each one to be truly unique and special in its own way. He did say, however, that the golf tournament has been hosted at a different course each year, and in his opinion, this year was his favorite course yet. It will be fun to see which course will be chosen to host the tournament next year.
The Share the Magic Golf Tournament isn’t just about birdies and bogeys, though; it’s about making a difference in the lives of others, and this year was nothing short of a success, despite the heat. Partners, vendors, and sponsors sweated it out together in the name of charity. Funds raised from the event will go to two different but equally deserving organizations – the Children’s Hospital of Colorado and HOPE for the Warriors. On behalf of the Colorado chapter of TD SYNNEX Share the Magic, Buszkiewic extended heartfelt appreciation: “We would like to thank all of our participants, sponsors, and volunteers for all of your support and contributions! It truly does take a village to pull off an event like this. We strive to support and better our communities not just in Colorado, but nationwide as well. With your support, our team can continue to help change lives for the better.”
While everyone who participated or donated is a hero in their own right, the true hero of the day was surprisingly ice-cold towels. To combat the scorching conditions, every player was equipped with multiple cold towels. “Everyone was in good spirits despite the heat and seemed to get creative in how to use the towel while playing,” explained Buszkiewic. From wrapping them around their necks like scarves to wearing them as headbands, the participants ingeniously beat the heat. Buszkiewic said one team even donned the towels as bibs, a hilarious touch that brought laughter to the fairways.
The Share the Magic 2023 Colorado Golf Tournament will be remembered not only for the exceptional golf but also for the camaraderie, creativity, and, most importantly, the collective commitment to making the world a better place—one swing at a time.
