Charity events can be difficult to plan during “normal” times, but launching an event amidst a pandemic can be especially challenging. Fortunately, the Share the Magic Colorado team at TD SYNNEX was up to the challenge last year as they kicked off the inaugural Share the Magic Colorado Golf Open on September 17, 2021, in Louisville, Colo. Now an annual event, organizers are preparing for an even bigger turnout in just a little over a week. As preparations continue, let’s take a look back at what made last year’s event so magical.
On a sunny and crisp Colorado afternoon on the Coal Creek Golf Course, 128 golfers, 25 volunteers, and 10 sponsors came together to play golf, but most importantly, to raise money for two great charities. In total, $38,000 was raised for the Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation and the Hope for the Warriors veterans’ organization. This money, combined with other fundraising initiatives throughout the year, contributed to the $17 million that Share the Magic has raised since its inception in 2011.
While golf was the centerpiece of the event, participants didn’t have to be at Brooks Koepka’s level to enjoy the day and help raise money. A delicious lunch was provided for free for everyone who signed up, as well as a silent auction, and prizes for the golfers. This year’s event will again include a free lunch and silent auction, but more prizes will be awarded for fun categories.
The Share the Magic Colorado Golf Open was a success last year, and it’s sure to be even better this year. The event is quickly approaching, but there’s still time to register or sign up as a sponsor. You can learn more, donate and register here.
