On August 12, 2023, Molarvie Rom, TD SYNNEX Product Business Manager for Cisco MSP, achieved something monumental that no one in her family had before: she graduated from college. Rom is not someone to let anyone or anything stop her. Her determination and strong will has shone through in the more than eight years she has been a part of the TD SYNNEX team. For the last two and a half years, she has been working full time at TD SYNNEX while also pursuing her dream of earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida. The qualities that kept her chasing a degree have also helped her grow with TD SYNNEX from operations to business development, where last year she was promoted to a Product Business Manager (PBM).
Rom began her career in the IT industry with TD SYNNEX, celebrating nine years this September. As a PBM, Rom focuses on Cisco Managed Service Providers (MSPs). With the MSP EDGE program, she explained that she uses a consultative approach with each partner, following the EDGE model. This allows her and her team to gain a better understanding of the partner’s unique managed services practices, pain points, and goals. “From there, I make recommendations on different TD SYNNEX value-added resources, as well as leverage Cisco resources when necessary to help alleviate their pain points and meet their goals,” Rom said.
Her team also aligns with the Cisco Provider Program, which is designed for MSPs. Depending on whether a partner already includes Cisco with their managed service practice or if they are in the program and looking to advance to the next level, Rom and her team are prepared to assist. “My goal is to simplify Cisco for our MSP partners, help them maximize on the benefits of Cisco’s Provider Program, as well as our TD SYNNEX value-added resources, and drive profitable growth,” she said. If partners aren’t already involved, she makes sure they are aware of Cisco’s Provider Program and how they can maximize on the incentives before walking them through the enrollment process. For partners already involved, she performs a gap analysis to create the right roadmap to help them reach the next level.
For the past couple of years while balancing school and a career, Rom has not had a whole lot of free time. When she does get time to relax, she enjoys her time at home with her son, binge watching movies. In addition, she loves getting caught up reading an exhilarating psychological thriller.
At TD SYNNEX, Rom and the other PBMs are subject matter experts within each of their focus architectures. “We help enable our partners and drive profitable growth through consultations, webinars, trainings, best practices, and education,” she said. For those MSP partners, Rom highly recommends enrolling as a Select Provider within Cisco’s Provider Program. Becoming a Select Provider does not require additional training, just an application, but there are significant benefits. Once partners join, they are given access to provider pricing on deal registrations and able to accrue Marketing Development Funds (MDF) on managed services opportunities.
As the echoes of Rom’s graduation achievement continue to reverberate, they amplify the spirit of relentless determination that has marked her journey at TD SYNNEX. Over her nine-year tenure, Rom’s unwavering commitment to growth and her thirst for knowledge have propelled her from her initial steps in operations to her present role as a PBM. Her pursuit of excellence is vividly reflected in her dual pursuit of education and career, a testament to her indomitable will. From the corridors of academia to the dynamic landscape of business development, Rom has consistently harnessed her tenacity and consultative prowess to uplift TD SYNNEX’s partners. As Rom continues to navigate the intricate intersection of education, work, and parenthood, she leaves a trail of inspiration for all who follow.
