Cisco showcased its award-winning Spark Board technology this week, demonstrating its innovative collaboration tool for those attending the Westcon-Comstor CONNECT event in Scottsdale, AZ.
CONNECT gathered the Westcon-Comstor leadership team, along with industry experts and reseller partners to learn more about capitalizing on emerging technology trends, service-delivery models, and establishing strategies and relationships for mutual growth in FY’18. Yesterday, the attendees had the opportunity to learn more about Cisco Spark Board collaboration technology.
The Cisco Spark Board, which recently won a prestigious Red Dot Award for innovative design, is an all-in-one device for team collaboration. With Spark Board, users can wirelessly present, white board, and video or audio conference – everything needed for team collaboration, all at the touch of a finger. The Cisco Spark app can be utilized to connect to virtual teams outside the physical room, through any device.
Presented by Kinney Yee, Cisco Systems Engineer–Sales, and Brett Harrison, Cisco BDM for Collaboration for America’s Distribution, the demo displayed how to use Spark Board before, during and after a meeting for collaboration. Attendees learned about Spark Team Spaces, and how they can easily contact someone via video on a number of different devices.
Yee and Harrison also established a call using an iPad, then easily moved it to the Spark Board. Then through the Spark Board, they shared files, presentations and dynamic white boarding. The white board documents automatically were posted to the Spark Space.
Everything created on the Cisco Spark Board can be stored in the cloud and associated with a virtual room. Using the Cisco Spark app, team members can pick up wherever they left off in the physical room, and continue working wherever they are located.
Spark Board automatically wakes up when someone enters a room, detects their Cisco Spark app-supported device, and suggests an activity to choose from, such as call, white board or wirelessly share your presentation. The app also provides basic control of the Cisco Spark Board through mobile devices.
Communication is enhanced by a powerful 4K camera that captures a high-resolution, wide-angle image of virtually the entire room. Audio, meanwhile, is provided by intelligent microphones delivering crisply and clearly. This is achieved through a 12-microphone configuration that automatically amplifies and modulates speaker voices so that all meeting participants come through load and clear.
In this day and age, where collaboration and the ability to connect from anywhere is so critical, tools like the Cisco Spark Board gives a distributed team an instant connection for greater productivity and effectiveness.
