Since 2020, when most people first experienced remote work, it has become popular for both consumers and companies – with many utilizing Cisco solutions to make the adjustment. Cisco distribution partners have also been adapting as they seek to understand these changes and learn how best to support their customers’ needs in the modern world.

It’s an exciting time for TD SYNNEX and Cisco Partners. Following the 2021 merger of two of Cisco’s largest and fastest-growing distributors, SYNNEX Corporation and Tech Data, this year presents new opportunities and advancements for everyone involved. In January, Jay Denton, Senior Vice President and Global Cisco Partner Executive for TD SYNNEX, and Michael Perez, Director for Partner Operations at Cisco, were interviewed for an EDGE360 podcast that was part of a series reflecting on 2021 and looking ahead to what’s in store for 2022. Though these leaders discussed challenges, the overall sentiment was of extreme optimism as partners continue to find success, especially with hybrid work and security solutions.

While some companies had been implementing hybrid or fully remote workplace models pre-pandemic, countless companies and employees were thrust into remote work with little to no preparation. 2021: The Year of the Backlog Opens Doors to Cloud and As-a-Service Offerings in the Cisco Channel
Looking back at the challenges and successes the Cisco channel experienced in 2021, one of the biggest factors that stand out is backlogs. Many industries and consumers felt the sting of supply chain delays, including Cisco. Dan Forbes, Vice President, Sales at TD SYNNEX, explained that although the backlogs were initially a challenge, as 2021 progressed, they led to more success. As consumers became frustrated with delays in delivery, they turned to cloud-based products that didn’t require delivery. Cisco partners also benefited from consumers’ desires for more collaboration and security, especially as the masses turned to establishing more permanent hybrid workplaces.
