Understanding the federal IT budget, broken down by agency and program, is critical for federal resellers looking to provide solutions into the government market. “We are seeing an unprecedented time of growth in the federal IT market,” Jeff W. Smith, president of True Upside Consulting, tells us. Smith, who will be presenting the federal market outlook at the Forum, says that IT budgets are at a level that hasn’t been seen in years as a result of an infusion of new dollars from the Defense Department.
Technology priorities, such as cyber security, IT modernization, cloud, big data and health IT also are driving new opportunities. In addition to new emerging technology trends, agencies are looking to test the waters with artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), software-defined infrastructure (SDI) and Blockchain.
