In our latest visit with Shawn Motley, Comstor’s Senior Product Manager of Cisco collaboration architecture, he explained how Cisco Spark can help organizations leverage the cloud to create greater collaboration across teams.

“The days of just having a phone call are coming to an end, and Spark is unique because it is the only collaboration technology available that combines WebEx, chat rooms with document sharing capability and cloud calling,” Motley explained.

As Motley shared in a previous post on trends in collaboration, the ease of use and accessibility  offered through Spark is compelling to end users.

The platform not only unifies messaging, meeting and calling that can be paired with Cisco desk phones, video phones and meeting room video collaboration endpoints, it allows the customer to manage all of it through a free customer management portal.

“The tool allows you to share large files, so you don’t overwhelm your colleagues’ inboxes, and you can create several rooms and use them at the same time for project specific work,” he explained. “With the addition of cloud calling, which allows you to link phones directly to the Cisco cloud, the persistent chatrooms and WebEx are all tied together. I can be in a Spark room, and now can make a video enabled call with the click of a button.”
