Modern teams rely on collaboration to get the job done, and they need quick and accessible technology to help them communicate across departments, offices and geographic locations. In our latest podcast, Shawn Motley, Comstor’s Senior Product Manager of Cisco collaboration architecture, talked to us about the market trends that are driving the rapid growth of unified collaboration solutions.

“End customers and Comstor partners are looking for ease of use,” said Motley, “and they want solutions that will make it easier for them to get business done. Cisco has changed the way its collaboration technology works. Now someone can walk in the room, be instantly recognized and start a call as easily as opening your cell phone or touching your iPad.”

It’s all about accessibility. Cisco Spark is a unified communications system bringing together a business-messaging app, conferencing solution and phone system all in one. This gives teams the ability to move faster by bringing everything and everyone together through technology.

Comstor is helping partners understand the importance of Cisco collaboration tools, including Cisco Spark and WebEx, which are hosted in the cloud, to give their customers the most up-to-date solutions.  Leveraging annuity-based billing for WebEx and Spark customers also allows them to avoid up-front costs, pay monthly and make changes as they go, all of which makes things much easier for our partners’ end customers.

In addition to opportunities with cloud solutions, Motley gives an overview of other opportunities for partners. Now is the time for partners to help their customers upgrade from end-of-life technologies, such as the Cisco 7900 series phones. As teams are modernizing and demanding more flexible technology solutions, partners can do assessments on current systems and provide insight on making customer’s networks more digital ready.
